As I’ve said before. I * LOVE * film. I will always jump at the chance to shoot film. This client wanted something softer, etherial, “Earth Mama” vibes. And I knew film was the ticket. I feel like film sessions are much more relaxed. No one is worried too much about how they look and I am less worried about whether or not I’ll get “THE” shot. This shoot not only absolutely DELIVERED, but It honestly took my breath away. It was so nice and quiet. We got to talk and just hang out. No expectations— only vibes—AND LEMME TELL YA. It paid off. This might be one of my favorite sessions to date.

After originally re-scheduling this maternity session due to weather, we were gifted with the most * perfect * Austin weather! This couple was so fun and hilarious and I absolutely loved working with them. I was recommended to them through a previous client and I am SO grateful to have gotten to photograph their sweet family just DAYS before the delivery of their baby.

This fun couple had been putting off getting their maternity photos done but finally decided it was time. And these photos only show a snippet of how fun and loving they are. Their little girl is very lucky!

This weekend we had some nice rain. Which is unusual in the Texas summer. But it “cooled things off” a bit and we had a fantastic session. We managed to get it all done before it became too steamy and hot outside. Morning sessions and morning light with morning people….. it doesn’t get much more fun than that!

Maternity shoots in the park are quickly becoming my favorite thing to photograph. This mini session is out of this world adorable and I just couldn’t wait to edit them and hand them over to this cute couple.
Plus, an evening walk in the park is always a nice way to end a long day.

These days, the earlier the session the better. We were out at the park before anyone else had arrived. There was a nice…cool?…breeze happening as well. The creek was almost entirely dry but what little water was flowing was very cool and clear and full of very cute teeny tiny frogs.
And morning light down in the creeks of central Texas is simply magical.

Austin Maternity Photographer-- Rainy Day Mini Session
Listen… Summer in Texas means it doesn’t rain very often. So when I woke up the other day and it was POURING mere HOURS before this maternity session, I was very bummed. But this little family was SO ready and so game for trudging through the mud at my favorite park to get these photos done. I’m so grateful. Heather is so sweet and her family is just perfect.

I haven’t been prioritizing in home sessions lately with the pandemic—but Monique and I had scheduled a maternity shoot months and months ago, and when we finally had the chance we jumped. Both she and her husband were so so sweet and easy going. My most favorite combination <3 Their little girl is on her way in just a few weeks! We got this shoot in just in time before her arrival.
Austin Family Photographer-- Maternity session on the Ranch
When I first talked with Carly about her Maternity session, we went back and forth a little bit about how to do it while maintaining proper social distancing. Maternity sessions can be pretty intimate sometimes, and of course neither of us wanted to cross any boundaries and make the other uncomfortable. Her idea was to head out into the hill country onto a family ranch for the photos— Where blue bonnets and blue skies were plentiful and it was easier to maintain distance. Boy was she right. What a beautiful day and a beautiful place out in Spicewood. The air was fresh and cool on our skin and spirits were high. My only wish that would have made this session any better would have been to be able to give ‘em a big ol’ hug at the end when we were saying our goodbyes.

A twist of fate brought this couple to me for their maternity session and I couldn’t have been more thrilled. Amanda and Josh are expecting their first born baby pretty soon and I am honored to have been their photographer. This couple was up for anything! Including the part of the show where I told them “alright, time to stand in the middle of the creek!”

Austin Family Photographer: Maternity Session at the Botanical Gardens
This quick early morning Family Photo Session was fantastic. We are experiencing our first real cold weather in quite some time down here in the Central Texas area. So this session was quite brisk but these two were real troupers and we had a ton of fun. This was their very first professional photo session (including their wedding!) and I must say it was a good one. They were so sweet and fun to be around. We were some of the first to arrive at the Zilker Botanical Gardens that morning and it was quiet and lovely. Early morning sessions are some of my favorites simply because the light is good and afterward we still have all day to look forward to.

These two cute ladies let me come hang out with them this past Sunday afternoon and let me tell you….. I have the biggest heart eyes for their bond. This mommy/baby shoot melted me into puddle on the ground with it’s sweetness.
